With California Writers Week being the 3rd week in October, we’ve got such an exciting lineup this year of events that celebrate the legacy and inspiration of California Writers… that it’s practically a mini-literary festival!

Ink Flow and Focus with Bronwyn Emery

After our monthly meeting, our speaker this month will be Bronwyn Emery. Bronwyn started a vibrant writing community in Alameda that now has a far reach. She will be speaking about the power of writing groups.

Poetry Express Open Mic: Inspired by California Writers

CWC-Berkeley is resurrecting the Poetry Express reading series at the new Clio’s Bookshop in Oakland. Readers can sign up on the open mic list when they arrive. Come join us and be rejuvenated by a lively diversity of poetic splendor!

“A Circle of Voices” Literary Picnic at the California Writers Circle

Celebrating the end of California Writers Week, the Berkeley Branch of the CWC welcomes members of all local writing groups to bring “A Blanket and a Basket of Chow” and enjoy our annual picnic with a unique reading series that links past and present. Presented by Kristen Caven, the California Writer’s Club’s Writer in Residence at Joaquin Miller Park.
