Dual MemberMembers of other branches can join the Berkeley Branch for a discounted annual fee. Dual Members are accorded the same rights and duties as regular members. |

Student MemberStudent memberships are offered to writers from the ages of eight through 22, or any writers who are a verified full-time student at an accredited school. Student members aren't eligible to vote or hold office (exceptions may be made by the central board.). |

VP: Virginia Prentiss Member (Renewal)This is a regular membership plus includes a subscription to all events for the fiscal year. Any events not attended provide a $5 donation to the Virginia Prentiss Fund for writers in need. |

Lifetime MemberBranches shall accord life membership only to active members. Life members shall be exempt from any further payment of dues but otherwise shall have all the duties and privileges of active membership. |

NOTE: The membership renewal window is May-September. After September 30, members who have not renewed must join as new members at the new member fee of $65. The additional cost for new members is how we pay our dues to the state-wide parent organization, so the fee is unavoidable.
New members may join at any time. Look for our half-year-discount for members joining after January 1st.
Other Membership Categories
Active members who are no longer writing can stay in the club with voting rights as a member emeritus or emerita. Patron members are people who have made a substantial gift or contribution to the club (they can not vote or hold office unless they are also an active or associate member.). Honorary members are writers of eminence who bring honor to the club. They shall not pay dues, hold office, or vote. Speakers and workshop chairs may become Courtesy members for one year, and have no voting or officer rights.
